A cookie is a file a website stores in your browser to remember information between visits. Some modern tools achieve similar measurement without cookies — that's the case for our baseline analytics, explained below.
First-party technical and preference cookies (exempt from consent under Article 22.2 LSSI-CE). movente_lang is a first-party cookie that remembers for 180 days the language you've already seen, so you don't get redirected again. ig_oauth_state is a technical cookie created only if you connect an Instagram account to Movente; it lasts 10 minutes and protects that connection process. Neither is shared with anyone or used to track you.
Browser local storage (not cookies, and never sent to our server). Your choice on the cookie banner is saved in your browser's local storage (localStorage) under the key movente_consent, so we don't ask you again on every page. If you close The Compendium notice on the home page, we also remember that in localStorage (movente_popup_compendio_dismissed) so it doesn't show again.
Plausible, our baseline analytics, uses no cookies at all — it measures visits in an aggregated, anonymous way, unable to identify you across sessions. That's why it always runs, whether or not you accept the banner.
Only if you accept the cookie banner do we also enable Google Analytics 4 cookies (via Google Tag Manager), which do identify your browser for more detailed behavior measurement. If you reject them, they are not set.
If you buy from The Compendium, payment takes place on Stripe's page (checkout.stripe.com), which uses its own cookies under its own privacy policy; they are not set on moventemag.com.
How to change or withdraw your consent. At any time, from the "Cookie settings" link in the footer of every page or from the button at the end of this page. When you use it, we turn off Google Analytics, delete its cookies from your browser, forget your previous choice, and the banner appears again so you can decide anew. You can also clear this site's cookies or block third-party cookies in your browser settings.
