Who directs Movente
Giacomo Stella is the editorial pen name of Santiago Lucerón, who directs and designs Movente, and personally signs the director's letter and each issue's anchor features. The rest of the writing carries its own bylines.
Before he ever art-directed a brand, Santiago was a competitive swimmer — years of training in the water, the first movement discipline he took seriously, long before he knew what a Reformer was.
The next twenty years went the other way: art direction and visual identity for brands and media, including a packaging design award in the spirits category (2020). Movente's clay accent, its type system, and the rule that white space is the main design element all come from that craft, not a template.
Pilates came later, and it came properly: he's a certified Mat & Studio instructor through Pilates Inside Out Spain (PIO), the first and only Spanish school approved by ITTAP — the Pilates Method Alliance's school-approval program — with NCPT recognition.
Movente comes from all three at once: the discipline of movement, the craft of making things look right, and the training not to write about the method carelessly. The rule doesn't change for that: the evidence gets reported as it is, not as it sells better.
